“In 1970, when the club was named del Safari, my parents built a home here. Coming from Chicago, it was quite a shock as it was very desolate back then, but nonetheless, it quickly became our family’s favorite place; we even spent our summers here. As a young girl, I learned to play golf and tennis here, and we enjoyed all of our family’s treasured holidays here in the desert. Larry’s first visit was in 1983, and together we’ve now created new family memories with our son, nephews and so many neighbors and friends who are now like family. In 2021, Larry and I made Avondale our permanent home and we relish in the outstanding golf, the spectacular settings, and most important, the uniqueness of the community and camaraderie amongst members. Avondale is a very special place…It’s our Home!”
